SPEAK NO EVIL:
YouTube Censors Free Speech

Wil Tracer
March 31, 2009

A three minute 1967 Newsreel covering the Apollo 1 Fire.

Interviews with Apollo Astronauts Gene Cernan and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin.

An interview with Thomas Ronald Baron regarding the harassment he received after exposing NASA.

The opening scene from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon - a 19 second film and a 9 minute film.

These are just a few of the topics covered in 60 films recently removed by YouTube, after being flagged for "inappropriate content" in an obvious attack against free speech by the propagandists. None of the films were cited for copyright infringement - just plain old "I don't like what you're saying, so SHUT UP!" censorship.

Some of these films can be viewed here, on our Justin.TV channel, embedded above to the right.

This censorship is to be expected from the NASA-worshipping propagandists, from Mark Gray to Jay Windley to SVector to Phil Plait - but not from YouTube. Or is it? Read the New York Times article dealing with this subject - calling this trend a "slippery slope", in which there is never an easy way back up from the abyss at the bottom. Yet, perhaps not all of these gentleman would have wanted this to happen, especially Shane Killian - who seems to honor our sacred liberty.

Jay Windley, on the other hand, has shown himself to be a gatekeeper for government corruption and deception on several levels - steering any honest seeker away from facts instead of toward them, whenever the facts and his opinion do not concur. And in doing so, he is in fact, a "mind-enslaved" subject of the government instead of a free servant of the people.

In any case, we respect his right to free speech - and we will continue to defend his rights. And, in addition, it is important that we at MOONMOVIE.COM defend the rights of each person who took away our rights, whomever they may be. None of us have to agree with the viewpoints of others, but when we begin to deny our enemies their right to freely exercise the principles behind the 2nd Amendment -

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

- we risk backlash against ALL of us, with ALL rights removed simply by a small elitist group who didn't like the viewpoints of others.

Deny rights to a select group, and someday, the ones who engage in this violation of rights will find their own rights removed as well until we all suffer under the hands of tyrants, doing whatever they wish to us. Remember, this is why these United States were founded.

"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." -- Wendell Phillips , (1811-1884)

We asked YouTube to restore the videos, but they simply refused with no specific reasons given. They would not answer any of our questions, including a request that they provide detailed reasons behind the "inappropriate" nature of each of the 60 films. In their silence, it is clear that it's not the content itself that they have judged to be inappropriate, such as "nudity or violence" - but the very ideas themselves. As the new "Ministry of Truth", they have violated one of the foundation stones of the Bill of Rights in censoring free speech with such a broad brush.

Of course, we will now upload them again and again in multiple copies in a different venue if needed. The truth will not be silenced.

In closing, let me explain how NASA, the government-controlled sectors of science, and the Department of Defense are enslaving you. We were warned of this coming captivity of thought (and the loss of scientific-advancement-for-the-good-of-the-people) several years ago in the Farewell Address of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Many of us are familiar with the first part of this quote, but never continue it to Eisenhower's related warning.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades. In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers. The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present -- and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. (Google, owner of YouTube, and Microsoft are both directly subordinate to the directives of National Security Interests - see below.)

It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system -- ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.
